Accessibility is a precondition for persons with disabilities to live independently and participate fully and equally in society. Without access to the physical environment, to transportation, to information and communication, including information and communications technologies and systems, and to other facilities and services open or provided to the public, persons with disabilities would not have equal opportunities for participation in their respective societies.

 

Braille is as important in a blind person’s life, as print literacy for a sighted person. Apps, text to audio readers are important tools however they are but they are inadequate substitutes for reading and writing. Also these solutions are dependent on various devices which a blind person may not have access to. In a developing nations braille is important  tool for blind people that aids in the process of becoming literate. Braille is also very important for people who are deaf-blind as it enables them to read and write.
